Londen is een van de grote artistieke en culturele centra van de wereld. Meer dan 300 musea verzorgen een enorme keus aan unieke collecties en bezienswaardigheden. Bezoek het Victoria and Albert Museum met maar liefst 10 kilometer aan tentoonstellingsruimte, waarin de Nationale Collectie van decoratieve kunst huist. Loop het Natural History Museum binnen voor de dinosauriërs en de nieuwe Earth Galleries. Of probeer het virtueel snowboarden of volleyballen in het Science Museum.
De 100 theaters van Londen (50 in de West End en 50 daarbuiten) bieden u een uitstekende keus aan amusement - van de beroemde musicals tot kleine theaterproducties. Kaartjes voor de grote kassuccessen moeten van tevoren gereserveerd worden maar u kunt altijd iets vinden bij het Half Price Ticket Booth op Leicester Square. (En mis vooral de gratis straattheaters op plaatsen als Covent Garden en Spitalfields niet).
De levendige muziek "scene" in de hoofstad bestaat nog steeds. Hier kwamen de swingende songs van de Sixties en de Punk vandaan en is vandaag-de-dag de bakermat van de Britpop en meer.... Londen kan zich ook roemen op symphonie orkesten, opera gezelschappen en jazz clubs van wereldklasse. U kunt terecht in de Royal Albert Hall (rock en klassiek), het South Bank Centre (voornamelijk klassiek) en een massa pubs en clubs in onder andere Camden (indie/Britpop).
